330 Days Later and my House is Sold!

As most of you know I moved to New Jersey in April of last year.

my-houseMy house went up for sale the day I left and stayed on the market for 330 days. I am happy to announce my house has finally been sold! I think I picked the worst time in my life to put a house up for sale and move to an extremely expensive state to live in, but who knew the entire economy was going to collapse like it did?

I have to admit it was somewhat of a struggle to get on my feet in New Jersey and still maintain a mortgage payment in Indiana. I’m really proud of myself for hanging in there and not taking the easy way out with foreclosure.

I guess good things do come to those who wait!

Bloomington Startup Weekend Starts February 8th

By StrangeWork.com: Startup Weekend is coming back to Indiana! This time making a stop at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Startup Weekend Bloomington IndianaStartup Weekend Bloomington will take place on the weekend of February 8th-10th. This will mark the second Startup Weekend of the year. Tickets for the event are $20 and go towards covering event expenses.

I had the opportunity to attend Startup Weekend West Lafayette back in October of last year. I was only able to participate for one day, but had a great time working on ScrollTalk.com.

Rumor has it that Andrew Hyde, the founder of Startup Weekend, might make an appearance at BarCamp Indy on Saturday if he comes to town! Be sure to send him a few hundred emails to ensure he makes it!

BarCamp Indianapolis Tech Conference

By StrangeWork.com: I’ve challenged myself with a new mission. I want to help bring technology to Indianapolis. Sure we have technology companies here, but no conferences, no meet-ups, no events period. So I began my search and guess what I found?

Scott Wilder is working on organizing the first ever BarCamp in Indianapolis. What is BarCamp? In their own words:
BarCamp Indianapolis Logo
BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.

Basically BarCamp is an “unconference” where all attendees must also contribute.

This is exactly the type of event I wanted to help get organized. I’m going to lend myself to helping out in anyway I can.

If your interested in attending BarCamp Indianapolis be sure to join the site and show your support.
