By StrangeWork.com: Bloomington Startup Weekend starts at 6pm tonight! I will be live streaming the event for everyone to enjoy. The camera should power on around 6:30pm Eastern Time. Make sure you come and join us for an exciting evening with Startup Weekend!
Bloomington Startup Weekend Starts February 8th
By StrangeWork.com: Startup Weekend is coming back to Indiana! This time making a stop at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Startup Weekend Bloomington will take place on the weekend of February 8th-10th. This will mark the second Startup Weekend of the year. Tickets for the event are $20 and go towards covering event expenses.
I had the opportunity to attend Startup Weekend West Lafayette back in October of last year. I was only able to participate for one day, but had a great time working on ScrollTalk.com.
Unfortunately Startup Weekend is scheduled directly over BarCamp Indianapolis this year so I will not be able to attend on Saturday, but I am planning on participating Friday to again experience the madness that is Startup Weekend!
Rumor has it that Andrew Hyde, the founder of Startup Weekend, might make an appearance at BarCamp Indy on Saturday if he comes to town! Be sure to send him a few hundred emails to ensure he makes it!
Startup Weekend Launches New Podcast: Startup the Show
By StrangeWork.com: StartupWeekend.com recently launched a new podcast called Startup the Show.

Hosted by Andrew Hyde of StartupWeekend.com and Rana Sobhany of RoleShare.com, Startup the Show will discuss startups, culture and business. They will also be interviewing many founders of companies from their startup weekend adventures. New episodes will be released three times a week from various Startup Weekend locations.
After listening to their first full episode it’s obvious there is a great chemistry between the two hosts that should equate into a great show! Be sure to tune in for each episode, I know I will!
Who knows, maybe they will have me on someday to talk SnapFoo!
ScrollTalk.com: Dynamic Chat Rooms
By StrangeWork.com: Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending Startup Weekend in West Lafayette, Indiana. After many hours of chewing over ideas we decided on one: ScrollTalk.com.
ScrollTalk.com is the next generation dynamic chat space, ranking conversation relevance. ScrollTalk.com is basically a tag based chat room. The user is able to select tags from the conversation which link you to related conversations based on those selected tags.
The site was created and launched in one weekend, but the overall concept is an original idea with plenty of room for growth. Not to mention Indiana was the first Startup Weekend to launch by the end of the weekend. Hoosiers rock!

StartupWeekend.com: Live from New York
By StrangeWork.com: StartupWeekend.com is back at it again, this time in New York City. If you read my previous post on Startup Weekend then you already familiar with them. The concept is simple, get as many professionals as you can in a room for a weekend and create a startup!
This weekend they have decided on a site dedicated to finding the best burger in NYC, called favoreats.com. As pointed out by Andrew, the User Experience Group has the best job of the weekend. They have to FIND the best burger in NYC. Stay up to date with their progress on their official New York blog.
I’m signed up for the West Lafayette weekend and am really looking forward to the challenge! If your in the Indiana area come out for the weekend and let’s get it on!
StartupWeekend.com
While surfing Ustream.tv a few weeks back I began watching one of their featured shows Startup Weekend. StartupWeekend.com is a fairly simple idea:

Have you ever wondered what a group of highly talented and motivated people could accomplish in a weekend? Could they start a company from concept to completion?
Good question. The first StartupWeekend took place in Boulder, Colorado. 68 attendees worked for three straight days to develop VoSnap.com. Unfortunately VoSnap.com was not completed in time and has yet to launch.
Regardless of this setback, the StartupWeekend team made a valiant attempt at doing what most companies spend months or even years on. To date they have 6 more startup weekends planned all over the country. I look forward to seeing where these weekends will take us!
